Pala, 2022
polyvinyl acetate on glass
88" x 140"

Pala is an installation of impressions taken from bricks revealed by renovation in the basement of the Peale and then adhered to select panes of windows in the Garden View Gallery. This work brings to light forgotten and unseen parts of the Peale that correspond to its complex and layered history. The covering and recovering of the building blocks of the institution, with their visible transformation, is a metaphor for changes that have occurred to the building and the city of Baltimore.
