Oil on burlap
27” x 22” each

Koh works with oil paint and sewed burlap, each intrinsically linked to global transportation and trade. They are the metaphorical byproducts and substitutes for ports, warehouses, markets, and cities along with the current issues that we face as a global society facing cultural re-contextualization. This work is also a reflection on his own cultural identity as an artist from South Korea who immigrated to the United States as a young adult.
